Tierra del Fuego National Park

We had a wonderful excursion into the Tierra del Fuego National Park. When Ferdinand Magellan sailed these waters in 1520, he saw fires lit by the Yaghan Indians hence the name "Land of Fire". Here we saw steamer ducks, unique geese, various types of the more than 100 species of birds and incredible scenery along the Beagle Channel.

Ushuaia

We flew from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, the most important city in the Tierra del Fuego province and the southernmost city in the World. We stayed in the very unique Los Yamanas Hotel on the edge of the Beagle Channel made famous by Charles Darwin in the "Voyage of the Beagle".

Piloto Glacier in Patagonia

This morning we sailed through the Brecknock and Ocasion channels arriving at Cockburn Channel in the afternoon. We disembarked in a Zodiac boat to explore Alakaluf Fjord and observe the Piloto glacier.
